Stepping out in Holden Arboretum

2014_11_11_Holden & Lake Erie Bluffs_002 One of my favorite places to walk with my camera is Holden Arboretum. The picture above was taken in the Butterfly Garden last November, after they had bedded everything down for the coming winter. Today I returned to the Arboretum for a short walk…probably no more than a mile, but it felt like I imagine a bird might feel when it is released from captivity….liberated! Here is a small gallery of my images from today’s walk in the Arboretum. (Click on an image to enlarge it.)

For the record:
  • Weather: Mostly cloudy, 44 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Exercise: Thirty minutes and one mile at the most…not counting time out for conversation with three dogs and their people

That’s all for today. Thanks for stopping by.

For the past three months (January through March) something huge has been missing in my life…something spelled e-x-e-r-c-i-s-e. My approach to exercise for many years has been to pick up my camera and head out the door to one of our great local parks. For years I have walked week in and week out straight through the winter, but this winter did me in. With single digit temperatures and more than enough snow, the trails became treacherous. Simply put, my daily walks didn’t happen. It’s almost April, and I can’t wait for the first warm day. Unfortunately, today wasn’t it. When the sun rose, the thermometer read 18 degrees (Fahrenheit), and it didn’t go much above that all day. Maybe tomorrow? I’m hoping! How about you?

That’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by.

Sharing is NOT an option!

The red-bellied woodpecker thought she had the post to herself until company showed up. If sharing is NOT an option, what will happen next?

That’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by.
