Introducing another Granddog

Mabel

Two or three weeks ago, I posted a blog about a visit from our granddog Wally who had come for a visit with our grandson Bryan. Wally and Bryan live in Washington DC, and that was his first visit to northeast Ohio. It was fun getting to know him, and I recently posted a blog about his visit. Today’s post is about Mabel, another granddog. Mabel is an English Sheepdog…a very large and energetic sheepdog, as you can see from the pictures.

On the day I took these pictures, she and her family had stopped by for a short visit. Last year when they were moving into their new house, about 45 minutes south of us, Mabel lived with Bob and me for a few months. Being dog lovers, we enjoyed having her around. However, they eventually settled into their new home, and Mabel moved back with them and their other dog Cooper. These days she only comes for a occasional visit, and on one of those visits I took these pictures. A dog, especially one as large and as lively as Mabel, can definitely add more than a little zest to the household.

That’s it for Mabel’s visit. Maybe in a future post I will introduce Cooper or one of our other granddogs. We don’t have a resident dog these days, but they are always welcome for a visit. Dogs really do add joy to a home. We have a picture on our wall with the caption, “There’s something about the outside of a dog that is good for the inside of a person!” I believe that is true.

See you again soon!

Autumn on the River Trail

Hands down, Autumn is my favorite season. The colors, the crisp air, and the blue sky…nothing surpasses an Autumn trail walk. In the past week, I’ve walked the trail in Chagrin River Park two or three times, soaking up the Autumn beauty. Here are some pictures I captured recently along the river trail.

I would write more and organize it better, but what they have done to wordpress has totally confused me. Another blogger wrote, “WordPress sucks,” but I just want to know how to get back to the old WP editor. It worked for me, and I was able to be more creative; however, unless I can find my way around the changes they have made, I won’t be satisfied with my blog or with the Word Press platform. Guess I’ll just keep working on it! For now, I simply hope you enjoy the pictures.

See you in a day or two!

Autumn trailwalking

On a recent Friday afternoon, my friend Lisa and I took a trail walk in Chagrin River Park. Our goal was to walk, talk, take pictures and soak up some Autumn beauty along the trail. It could not have been a more perfect day. Even if we had placed an order in advance, this trail walk would have surpassed our expectations. The hawk, posing on a tree limb 15 feet over our heads, was totally unexpected, as was the much smaller preying mantis perched on the fence rail.

We didn’t plan the walk ahead of time, but even if we had, it would have surpassed our expectations! In short, it was everything we could have hoped for!

See you soon with another post!
