On my walk in the park this afternoon, I stopped at a bench beside the trail and scattered a little buffet for the birds, but guess who came to dinner...and beat the birds to it. I had to dig into my pocket and replenish the supply for the other little birds.
Shades of October
I had planned a quick trip to the Arboretum today, so I was hoping for a sunny day. As it turned out, the sky was mostly grey, but the trees made all the difference!
Not your average weed
Milkweed is a gourmet meal for the caterpillar and is reportedly edible by humans too. I won't be adding it to my menu anytime soon, but I may plant some in the garden for the monarchs. More interesting info about milkweed

This little frog earned the "People's Choice" award in the 15th annual member's photo contest at the Holden Arboretum...the only award I've ever received for my photography (so far ;)).

Winter is coming…
Winter is coming...but I refuse to accept it. Like this leaf clinging to the branch, I am resolutely clinging to sunny days and blue skies.
