On my photowalk today, I was carrying my Nikon with my 70-300mm lens attached. I had hopes of spotting the pileated woodpecker I saw yesterday at two different places on the trail. Unfortunately, it was not to be. He was apparently in hiding, so I eventually gave up on him, switched out my telephoto lens for the 35mm prime I got (myself) for Christmas, and took a few landscape shots instead. Aside from a downy woodpecker that I posted in my blipfoto journal today, this “dressed for wiinter” rail fence is my favorite for today.
