A little sunshine…

…makes a BIG difference! Obviously this red-bellied woodpecker would agree, especially if Bark Butter Bits come along with the sunshine.

I had other sunny photos from today’s trail walk, but I’m sticking to my plan to post one photo a day. Is it cheating if I post three pictures of one red-bellied woodpecker? He looks so happy, I just had to make him a blog star today.

Join me for another trail walk tomorrow.

    1. Thank you. The RBW is one of my favorites. Actually, there are two different birds in this gallery. The one on the left is a male and the other is a female. On the male, the red feathers cover the top of his head down to the beak.

  1. Actually, these are 2 different birds. The one on the left is a male, the other 2 shots are of a female. Regardless, they do look happy, and the light is great.
