I had other sunny photos from today’s trail walk, but I’m sticking to my plan to post one photo a day. Is it cheating if I post three pictures of one red-bellied woodpecker? He looks so happy, I just had to make him a blog star today.

Thank you. The RBW is one of my favorites. Actually, there are two different birds in this gallery. The one on the left is a male and the other is a female. On the male, the red feathers cover the top of his head down to the beak.

Actually, these are 2 different birds. The one on the left is a male, the other 2 shots are of a female. Regardless, they do look happy, and the light is great.
